Oh boy… What a big start to 2019!

The CLA team have had a massive six months, to say the least. Our team is growing, we’re being celebrated for our great work, we’re paving the way for women in leadership, and we’re giving back to the community. To say that the first half of 2019 has been busy and exciting would be an understatement!

Here are our highlights of 2019 so far. We thank those who have been involved and have had fun with us along the way…

CLA for the win!

On April 10, CLA were honoured to be recognised at the 7-Eleven supplier awards. CLA were proud to win the Outstanding Service Award for the SPARK Leadership Development Program. This award recognises non-merchandise suppliers and acknowledges the commitment to support the 7-Eleven business and its stores through continuous improvement and outstanding service. CLA have partnered with 7-Eleven to build a bespoke leadership program for middle managers, known as SPARK. Since 2017, CLA have been fortunate to work closely with the 7-Eleven team and close to 100 leaders across the business to support them on their leadership journey. We have just kicked off cohort 4 of SPARK and look forward to working with another great group of leaders. Our heartfelt thanks to 7-Eleven for awarding CLA this prestigious award.

LEAD by Business Chicks x CLA

Research conducted by Business Chicks and the Centre for Leadership Advantage (CLA) in 2018 heard from 2,700+ women who identified a number of skills they wanted most to develop, and that they saw as important for their future career success. Click here to read the white paper. Following this extensive research project, Business Chicks and CLA designed two leadership programs – one for Executives and one for Emerging leaders – directly targeting the skills identified by this group of 2,700+ women.

The programs have been designed to provide participants with a challenging and supportive environment where they can reflect, share their ideas and experiences, as well as learn from evidence-based practices to really add into their leadership toolkit. The aim of LEAD is to have our participants walk away feeling energised, equipped with new skills and knowledge, with a clear action plan in place and – most importantly – with the support and backing of a network of other female leaders who are equally charged and committed to leading in their organisation.

We have been delighted to roll out LEAD Executive and LEAD Emerging programs in both Melbourne and Sydney over the last three months. With the inclusion of robust psychometrics, executive coaching and an immersive program facilitated by CLA’s senior organisational psychologists, we’ve been thrilled with the feedback from our delighted participants, a snapshot of which is provided below:

“The program was innovative from the get go. From pre-program coaching conducted in a relaxed manner to the “down to earth” and passionate facilitators and content – there was an empowering energy and connection over time. I take with me invaluable learnings that I can lean on in my work and every day life to assist with my endeavor to be the best version of me as a leader and person.”Anonymous, LEAD Emerging participant

“It’s the best Leadership Development program I think I’ve ever done. Bringing it back to you as a leader, and working on how you can build on your strengths rather than trying to change who and what you are was really refreshing. The facilitation was fantastic…”  – Anonymous, LEAD Executive participant

CLA in the Press!

We were delighted to be featured in AFR’s Boss Magazine on April 8, 2019. The article, titled “3 ways psychology can boost your influence” was written by CLA Senior Consultant, Rearn Norman. In this article, Rearn hones in on the fact that one’s ability to influence is critical to their success as a leader. True to CLA’s practical approach, the article offers three tips to help readers become more influential.

Welcome baby Rex Roylance!

Congratulations to CLA’s very own co-founder and CEO, Dr Marcele De Sanctis and husband Nathan Roylance on the safe (though early!) arrival of baby Rex Roylance. Bouncing into the world on March 14, Rex spent the first few weeks in special care and is now safe at home in the loving care of his parents.

Marcele has displayed her supermum powers already – keeping connected to CLA and enjoying motherhood. She even delivered a half-day session on Influencing last month in Perth! We would like to extend our thanks to CLA’s clients and friends for their best wishes and kindness throughout this period.
